We are an artist and musician with a collaborative practice, based in Fife, Scotland. We take a playful, improvisatory approach to exploring audio-visual material together. We have been making work together since 2013.
I'm Emma Ainsley, an artist working with sound, video and performance with a particular interest in working with others to explore the possibilities of creating connections and communication beyond chat. My work is influenced by many years working in front-line care roles and I love how Jam Today gives me the chance to get creative with residents and staff.
I am John Phillips, a musician and composer. After being a professional musician for fifteen years I changed my career to care work. This was after volunteering to help at a music therapy session and seeing how interacting with music reached, lifted and had such a positive impact on people with a variety of support needs. Always seeking opportunities to bring musical activity into the lives of the people I was supporting I continued to develop my music practice alongside the twenty years I worked in frontline care roles. Now I am focusing all of my energy to bring participatory music sessions into the care home.
